A cold but dry day greeted a very cheery crowd of handlers and their dogs for the first LWSS working test of the year at the Lackford and Cavenham Estate, near Bury St Edmunds. The puppies, novice and open dogs were expertly put through their paces by the judges, Mr Steve Newman and Mrs Lyn Doubleday where they were tested with retrieves of increasing difficulty on, first rough grass, for the puppies followed by woodland with light fallen bracken covered, for the more experienced dogs: spaniel heaven! Many thanks to again to our hosts Mr Wayne Alford and Robert Gough and to all the people who stepped up to fire pistols and throw and deposit dummies in all the right places . Tests can’t run without hosts, helpers or competitors, so thanks to you all.

I think most of the handlers had fun, but some of the dogs had more .
