The Kay Baldwin Memorial Gundog Working Tests Puppy/Novice & Open A.V Spaniel
To be held at The Cavenham & Lackford Estate, Suffolk

Entries Close & Draw: will take place on the 1st March 2025 1900hrs at the secretary’s house. Entries will be limited to 20 dogs per test, if more than 20 entries are received, a reserve list will be compiled. Fully paid-up Members of LWSS will have preference in the draw.
Meet: 0900 for 0930 start, directions with draw
Entry Fee & Definition: £12 Members £20 non-members per dog per stake - Gundog Working Test using Canvas Dummies.
Puppy: 18mths & under. Novice: not to have been placed 1st in a
Novice Test or 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Open Test or been awarded any award in a Field trial including a COM.
Entry via post or email. Your entry fee must be paid within 48hrs of receiving the results of the draw
Entries should be paid by cq or directly into the LWSS bank Account (details below). Failure to pay on time could result in your run being offered to a reserve. Cheques or cash will not be accepted on the day. Open test will start at 13.00 hrs.
Membership £12 single £15 Joint (£10 joining fee applies)
Awards: Trophies for stake winners, Best puppy, Best Cocker spaniel & Best Overall hunter. Certificates 1st to 4th place, Coms

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Entries: By email or post an entry form is attached, and the form is also available to download on the trials section of the LWSS website https://www.thelondonworkingspanielsociety.co.uk/.
Use a separate entry form for each test. Payment is due 48hrs following the draw either by cheque or by bacs into the LWSS Account Cheques MUST be made payable to: The London working Spaniel Society.

Only fully paid-up members at the time of each draw will be given preference
Directions to the ground: details will be sent via email with the draw results or by post if an SAE was enclosed with the entry
Start Time: All tests meet at 9.00am for a 9.30am prompt start, failure of a competitor to attend on time might result in their entry in the test and their fee to enter being forfeited and their run being offered to a reserve dog, or an alternative competitor, as appropriate. There will be no substitution of dogs while reserves stand.
Withdrawals – Reg J7f applies. After an applicant has been successful in a draw, or reserve accepted an offer within 7 days of a run, the applicant will be liable for the full entry fee if the place is not taken up by another competitor, unless a veterinary certificate is produced.
Welfare of dogs – Competitors whose dogs are entered at a kennel Club event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dogs are met and should not knowingly put their dogs’ health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this regulation may be referred to the general committee for disciplinary action under kennel Club regulations.

Dogs in hot cars on hot days are vulnerable and AT RISK if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered slightly warm therefore please take care of your dog. If your dog is found to be at risk forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any danger caused.
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met and should not knowingly put their dogs’ health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this Regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.

Dogs entered at Kennel Club affiliated events must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B.

The society reserves the right to refuse any entry to its events.

If entries or nominations exceed the number of permitted runners, the right to compete in a test shall be decided by ballot.

Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the judges, may alter arrangements, as necessary.
